BAMS in Karnataka

Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery is a graduate degree. B.A.M.S is the shortened form of Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine& Surgery. The program is having a duration of 5 ½ years including a one-year internship program. The Central Council of Indian Medicine observes Indian Ayurvedic Education. CCIM is a statutory Central Government Body.

Currently, there are 154 recognized Undergraduate and 33 Postgraduate B.A.M.S institutes in India. Once an aspirant completes the B.A.M.S program from a recognized university, they will be known as ‘Ayurvedacharya’. The syllabus of this course is a mixture of integrated topics of modern medicine and traditional Ayurveda. Many institutes in India offer the program. Those who have a strong belief in Indian traditional Ayurvedic system and want to know more about it can study the program.

About Karnataka

Karnataka is the 7th largest state in the country (by area). Situated in the south-western region of India, The state was formerly known as Mysore and was renamed Karnataka in 1953. It is one of the most renowned states of the country for tourism.
